Cybereason was founded and incorporated in 2021 by Israeli intelligence force veterans in the U.S. state of Delaware.
Cybereason provides an endpoint protection platform. It provides antivirus software, endpoint detection, and response through a single proxy and a suite of managed services.
Nocturnus is cybereason's security research arm. The Nocturnus team is focused on discovering new attack methods, reverse-engineering malware, and exposing new system vulnerabilities. Nocturnus was the first to discover the 2017 NotPetya and Bad Rabbit cyberattack vaccines.
The Cybereason platform differs from its competitors in that it reflects the founders' expertise in handling some of the world's most sophisticated hacking operations. The company's detection and response technologies use big data, behavioral analytics, and machine learning to detect in real time sophisticated cyberattacks designed to evade traditional defenses.
Cybereason's software automates the investigation process and enables the ability to connect siloed malicious events to provide a complete picture of malicious operations. The platform is available as an on-site solution or cloud-based service and is currently used by hundreds of companies including Lockheed Martin, SoftBank and Wipro.
Cybereason raised $200 million from Softbank in 2019 and $50 million from Google Cloud in 2021.
