Attack surface on Metaverse
Metaverse. Wow, everyone is talking about it, and everything that has a slight connection to it is drawing so much attention.
What? Trend Micro is jumping on the bandwagon this time? Yes! Because this is different! We are not chasing a fad. We are seeing the potential of Metaverse!
Metaverse is destined to be a convergence of technologies. Together with Web 3.0 (Web3) and immersive experience, they will create a new-generation cyber ecosystem--a whole new concept that piques everybody's imagination for the future of the cyber world. As a leader in cybersecurity, Trend Micro's foray into Metaverse is a critical move to pave its way into Metaverse security.
This session will start with a discussion of Web3, which is the economic foundation of Metaverse, then moves on to topics such as crypto-currencies, decentralization, and their connection with Metaverse, rounding out with foreseeable attacks. We will explain why Web 3 should lead the discussion. Then, we will talk about some of the more notable vulnerabilities and frauds, followed by a discussion of how to stay safe in a world of such fast-paced technology innovations.
SPEAKER
Sam started his career as an engineer specialized in cloud antivirus and antivirus scan engines at Trend Micro. In 2016, seeing the potential of VR, he pivoted to VR and led the new VR security team of Trend Micro. In 2022, the Metaverse Security department was created to lead the effort for developing Trend Micro's security solutions for Metaverse and Web3.
