Coupang / CISO of Taiwan and Japan

Hao-Wei Chen is the CISO for Taiwan and Japan at Coupang, where he leads a cybersecurity team covers both markets. Prior to this, he spent over a decade at Amazon, serving as a founding member of several core security functions, including insider threat investigations, product security, internal red teaming, and digital forensics and incident response (DFIR).

Beyond his corporate role, he has long been involved in advising the government on cybersecurity matters. He currently serves as a cyber warfare advisor to the Ministry of National Defense and previously led the Cybersecurity Advisory Committee in Overseas under Taiwan’s National Security Council.

In the nonprofit sector, he is the founder of the NEX Foundation and the Taiwan International Foundation, as well as a founding board member of the Association of Hackers in Taiwan, with a focus on talent development and international collaboration.

He holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Fu Jen Catholic University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Johns Hopkins University, specializing in cybersecurity and national security.
