4540 & 4248-6C are the latest models among Niagara's fixed NPBs. On one side is Switch based NPB, which can perform packet replication, aggregation, filtering, and Tool Chain serice at 100% line speed without packet loss; on the other side, after installing the Packetron module, it can provide advanced NPB functions including: network packet reduction, packet deduplication, ERSPAN Termination, IPFIX generation, etc., and can also provide OVP for the server platform ( Open Visibility Platform) function enables 4540 & 4248-6C to integrate NPB and Server. For example, the aggregated and filtered traffic is directed internally to the software versions of Palo Alto, ExtraHop, Darktrace, Fortinet, Flowmon, Elastic, FourScout, etc. installed on the OVP, allowing 4540 & 4248-6C to provide customers with more diverse information security defense deployment methods and higher cost performance.
