David Hsueh

Bureau Veritas / Cyber Security Services Dept. Technical Director

15 years of experience in the cyber security industry, with 7 years focused on IoT cybersecurity issues in the TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) certification industry.

Before joining the TIC certification industry, I moved between various roles in the technology manufacturing sector, alternating between different auditing positions for brand clients and related suppliers, and as the audited party in operations, solving various thorny information security problems. Following the trends in the manufacturing industry, I shifted from Information Security within Cybersecurity to IoT Security.

Dedicated to the secure development of the Internet of Things, I strive to assist the industry in resolving, strengthening, and demonstrating the security protection of IoT devices, enhancing the competitiveness of client products, and creating a positive cycle for businesses as they invest in information security while pursuing profitability.

RED Cyber Security law in EU , EN 18031 series standard

The new EU legislation, 2014/53/EU, under the Radio Equipment Directive 3.3 (d) (e) (f), has activated mandatory cybersecurity regulations.

As a formal mandatory regulation, coupled with three new standards totaling over 600 pages, it presents a challenging compliance issue for many manufacturers hoping to export IoT products with wireless capabilities to the EU. How to achieve compliance will be a difficult problem, from the initial product and standard response selection, clarification of specific terminology definitions within the standards, whether EU type certification is mandatory, to how to confirm if one's product can achieve compliance through self-assessment.

These questions will be answered in this seminar.
